  • Schmitz celebrates its 25th anniversary

    On july the 7th. 2007 Schmitz celebrated its 25th anniversary.
    At the celebration the opportunity was taken to thank longterm employees
    for their loyalty.

    Summer Party 2003

    • On Sptember the 13. the Schmitz GmbH celebratet its anual office party. This event was also used to honour three long-standing employees. Mr. Matthias Rassel celebrated his 10th year at Schmitz. Mr. Klaus Wessels and Mr. Bernd Lübke are teammembers at Schmitz for allready 20 years.





  • Schmitz completes successfully the audit according to the Q+S criteria.

    • On June the 17th 2002 company Schmitz underwent an audit according to the Q+S (Quality and Security) criteria. The ACG (Agrar-Control GmbH) confirmed the compliance of the Q+S criteria for meat and meat products.

    During their visit in Lohne, the managing director Mr. Caspar von der Crone and employee Mr. Marcus Hensgen informed themselfes about the stage of development in the two QS member companies Brand Qualitätsfleisch GmbH und Co. and Schmitz GmbH. After a tour through the companies premisses, where Paul Brand demonstrated the numerous information-technologies and hygiene-measures, the contracts with the farmers were explained in detail. Dr. Volker Spiegel, representative of the veterinarian office Vechta, took also part in that conversation. Mr. Heiko Plate explained the integration- and controll-activities which Schmitz GmbH performs now since years. In this talk proprietor August Schmitz made clear, that allready 80 % of the pork fattening firms delivering to him are articled to QS agreed supply contracts.The extensive pre-audits are making a fast change to the QS-system possible. Allready in June a according DIN 45 011 accredited controll-company will test the slaughtering and cutting premisses and the needed number of farming premisses. A gapless quality assurance system from the feeding stuff to the consumer is, according to August Schmitz, a logic and consistent step in the strategy the company is following for a long time.

  • First Schmitz Cup 2001

    The first soccer championship of the company Schmitz took place in June 2001. Company teams of the firms Rügenwalder Mühle (Bad Zwischenahn), Artland Fleischwaren (Badbergen), Edeka-Bäkehof Fleischwaren (Friesoythe) as well as a selected team of coaches from the Quakenbrücker TSV participated. The final match was played by the teams from Rügenwalder Mühle and Artland Fleischwaren. Rügenwalder Mühle finally won by penalty. After a common barbecue and some drinks all teams agreed in repeating the tournament the following year.
